Our client’s Taiwan’s project is seeking an experienced Building Engineer who will be accountable for coordinating and supervising overall Building Engineering, Procurement, and Field engineering work including Building Civil & Architectural, Building Electrical, Building Mechanical works (sanitary piping work, fire water piping work, equipment, and piping work, commissioning of HVAC Equipment and control system), Building Fire Protection works including commissioning of Fire & Gas alarm system under the direction by Building Discipline Manager to complete the work meeting with the schedule, quality, and safety requirement. Role:

 

Our client’s Taiwan’s project is seeking an experienced Building Engineer who will be accountable for coordinating and supervising overall Building Engineering, Procurement, and Field engineering work including Building Civil & Architectural, Building Electrical, Building Mechanical works (sanitary piping work, fire water piping work, equipment, and piping work, commissioning of HVAC Equipment and control system), Building Fire Protection works including commissioning of Fire & Gas alarm system under the direction by Building Discipline Manager to complete the work meeting with the schedule, quality, and safety requirement. The incumbent shall monitor the consortium partner and/or subcontractor’s work plan and performance and report it to Building Manager daily for decision making to remedy.

 

Major Responsibilities & End Results (At Site):

 

1. Receive the instruction of the job to be in his duties from Building Manager.

2. Receive the orientation of the field office function from Admin Manager.

3. Receive the safety induction course from Safety Control Manager / Supervisor.

4. Implementation of the client's SHES program throughout the project duration, to display a positive leadership and maintain good relationships with all site Management, personnel and other third parties to achieve the below objectives.

- Zero accidents,

- Zero personal injuries,

- Zero property losses or damage,

- by continuously encouraging safety consciousness and stringently applying the rules of the construction project site

5. Review and understand completely the latest status of “FOR CONSTRUCTION DRAWING “and “SPECIFICATION FOR CONSTRUCTION “,” SPECIFICATION FOR DESIGN FOR BUILDING” and ensure that the same Drawings and Specifications are in use by the consortium partner and/or subcontractor, and if not, make sure the consortium partner and/or subcontractor collect the latest issues. In case the incumbent finds in such document any errors, discrepancies, inconsistencies, or any points to be corrected or amended, report to Building Discipline Manager/Chief and take the initiative to correct such documents liaising with our client’s department in charge or consortium partner who carried out the detailed design.

6. Report of the engineering documents and procurement status to the Building Manager.

7. Attend meetings with consortium partner and/or subcontractors being conducted by the Building Manager, especially Engineering and procurement issue.

8. Lead safety and Organize / Control daily toolbox talk conducted by consortium partner and/or subcontractor.

9. Control and Expedite consortium partner and/or subcontractor’s work and direct for correction and report it to the Building Manager.

- Engineering & Procurement Schedule and Progress.

- Workforce, construction equipment, correct tools, and materials

- Quality of work during the construction

- Full familiarization and Compliance with CPC and Taiwan national Standard.

- Performance of consortium partner and/or subcontractor’s staffs

- Preparation for safety work

- Modification required.

- Insufficient matters with consortium partner and/or subcontractor’s Engineering & Procurement performance (reasons behind poor performance)

10. Attend Inspection activity conducted by Building QC Inspector as needed.

11. Verify the progress report prepared by the Consortium partner and/or subcontractor.

12. Coordination interfacing with other discipline and Consortium partner engineer.

13. Coordination interfacing with vendors for HVAC Equipment, HVAC Control system and F&G alarm system including vendor specialist for relevant commissioning.

14. Preparation of punch listing and expedite the punching-out especially Engineering & Procurement.

15. Reporting the status of work progress and punching-out to Building Manager.

16. Prepare a report of the Engineering & Procurement work.

17. Reporting to the Building Manager of the matters other than above entrusted by him.

18. Control tool/special equipment which the client Supplied if applicable.

19. Control material issuance from the client’s MCS and keep proper maintenance under consortium partner and/or subcontractor’s warehouse.

20. Initiate preservation activities based on Company and Vendor requirements.

21. Operation of Revit software, if possible.

 

PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKING:

 

1. Check the latest status of “Documents for Construction “and report it to the Building Manager for expediting of issuance to meet CRD.

2. Check the procurement status of materials and equipment to be purchased by the consortium partner and/or subcontractor and report it to Building Manager.

3. Coordinate and supervise interfaces with other work and report it to Building Manager for change of work schedule from Engineering & Procurement point of view.

4. Coordinate the interfaces between Building Work and other discipline’s activities such as the installation of switchgear panel at the substation BY Electrical Section, the installation of instrument rack at the control room by Instrument Section from design point of view.

5. Check for Material Installation & commissioning plan for HVAC Equipment, HVAC Control system, and Fire & Gas alarm system. Coordinate and supervise interfaces with relevant vendors and building mechanical contractor as below point of view.

- Commissioning plan

- Installation

- Functional Test

- Prepare Commissioning Report

6. Report consortium partner and/or subcontractor’s performance to Building Manager for remedial action.

 

Requirements

  • Degree/ Diploma in Civil/ Construction Engineering or other relevant Engineering field
  • Minimum 10 years of Oil & Gas Industry experience, including a minimum 5 years or more building engineering experience in Oil and Gas Project such as main control building and electrical substation. And CPC PJ experience is preferred.
  • Singaporeans with valid work eligibility in Taiwan and past work experience in Taiwan are welcome to apply

· Key user knowledge of relevant software systems: Revit software.

· Proficient in MS Office, MS Excel, etc.

· Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

· The candidate should be independent, self-motivated, result driven and have a good sense of team working skills.

  • Good attitude and possess the willingness to learn on the job.
  • Adaptable to fast paced work environment, able to work under pressure, able to finish assigned work on time.
  • Good communicative skill, able to interact with people of all levels and teamwork.

· Fluency in Mandarin and conversational level of English are required to communicate with their diverse team and stakeholders effectively

· Candidate who can join ASAP, will be given the 1st priority.

Other information:

· Contract job| Contract’s duration: Feb 2025 – Aug 2025

· AL/ Home Leave & Working hours per week: 11 days Als after 4 months of work| working hours per week: 40 hours

· There will be a completion BONUS.
